Adventures in Screen Printing Series
Silk screening seems mysterious and complicated, but it actually can be both simple and fun to make screens and print on fabric and paper. Students will learn to build their own screens and apply surfaces with paint, screen filler and photo emulsion, then use them to print custom images. Everyone will leave class with several screens to use and the skill to print successfully.
Prerequisite: None, except that students must be at least 13 years old!

“At the risk of sounding overly effusive, my experience was pretty damn fantastic. I fell in love with screenprinting, and rekindled my enthusiasm for making art on my own. I’m a healthier person when I’m makin' stuff. I'd forgotten. It takes a pretty special person to inspire that kind of genuine fervor from a somewhat jaded career 'creative.' Kat is a gem. She demystified the process and made it super-accessible—and maybe most importantly: fun. It's awesome to know about stitch lab as a resource, too. I eagerly look forward to my next adventures.” -- Christy
