Hello Crewel World!

The bold and colorful “yarn art” of the 60’s and 70’s is enjoying a huge renaissance in the needle art and design world right now. Crewel is a form of hand embroidery, using wool yarns instead of cotton floss on linen.

We’ll cover the basics of crewelwork tools, materials and techniques in modern, retro and Japanese “wooly embroidery” styles. You’ll learn several common and decorative stitches while working a stylish modern sampler to show off all your new stitching!

Pattern transfer methods, recommended books and crewel supply sources will also be covered.

Prerequisite: Embroidery I at Stitch Lab, or equivalent skills.
