Garment Sewing From a Pattern Series

You’re all set to make a cute new dress from a commercial pattern. It says “very easy” 1-hour dress, but when you open the instructions, pattern layout and tissues, you begin to realize that sewing pattern companies assume you already know all the basics. In this class, we’ll walk you through every step of the way toward understanding how patterns work, how to measure, cut, mark and sew your way to a garment you’ll be SEW proud of! In fact, the first class meets in a fabric store so you’ll have guidance in choosing a great pattern for your skill level and fabrics to compliment the style. We’ll cover simple pattern alterations for a custom fit and many sewing terms that come up in most sewing patterns, so you’ll be able to keep on stitching after class.

Prerequisite: Beginning I Sewing Series or equivalent experience. Not sure? Please email and we'll discuss!
