Knit 101: The Basics
Knit 101 is an absolute beginner’s intro to the beautiful and relaxing art of knitting. First, we’ll cover the juicy array of needles & yarn. Next, we’ll learn to cast on, how to work knit and purl stitches, basic stitch patterns, binding off, and simple written pattern terminology. You’ll get all of the basics of knitting down while starting a cozy cowl-style scarf. The first half of our class will be all about practice and play. You’ll begin your scarf in class and leave with the skills, two different scarf patterns, and instructions to finish it at home.
Prerequisite: None, except that students must be at least 13 years old!

"I'm so glad I took this class with Becky! She totally demystified knitting for me, and (after years of abandoned attempts) I've completed my first project. Huge win. Becky was really patient and made a point of checking in with everyone along the way and kept the pace of the class so that everyone could work and no one was left behind." -- Liz
