Beginning Millinery: Parasisal Straw Hat Series
In this series, you will learn how to block a straw hat using traditional millinery blocking techniques and wooden “puzzle” hat blocks from the 1920’s and 1930’s. Students will choose a beret, a boater, or a toque style. Important: Students must select a color for their hat no later than 10 days before classes begin. Color choices will be emailed to you upon registration.
[NOTE] The deadline for canceling this particular series is 10 business days before the day of the first class, after the straw color choices have been ordered. Once the supplies have been ordered, cancellation will result in forfeiture of your tuition.
Prerequisite: Previous Hand Sewing skills strongly recommended, but not required.
