DIY Pattern Making: The Fitting Shell Series

Using a commercial fitting shell or basic dress pattern, we will alter the pattern tissues for your measurements and make a muslin mock-up of the dress. Each student will then have the opportunity to schedule a 1-hour, one-on-one private lesson* with the instructor to fine tune the fit of the garment using the muslin. This class will give you a better understanding of your fit "issues" which will help you fit all future commercial patterns that you make. In addition, once you have a basic fitting shell that fits your body, you can use it as a jumping off point for designing your own clothes. There will be homework between classes.

Prerequisite: Students must have taken DIY Pattern Making 101.
