Flower Power Placemats

These place mats reinforce the idea that inspiration is everywhere. The idea for this project came to me as I was teaching at Stitch Lab. One of my students was showing me a fabric she planned on using in her project and explaining her plan to fussy cut a line of daisies that were printed along the border. A thought suddenly occurred to me that these simplified and stylized flowers would make the cutest place mats.

I can think of no better adjective for these place mats than fun. They’re fun to plan, allowing you to combine solids with novelty prints, fun to piece, and fun to use. I would bet they’d be just as fun to give as gifts.

Level: Intermediate to Advanced.

Prerequisite: The Intro to Quilting Series, or equivalent experience.
