Hand Quilting
Traditionally, quilts were pieced and stitched entirely by hand. The sewing machine can make piecing a breeze and create a top that’s indistinguishable from its hand pieced counterpart. However, hand quilting has qualities all its own apart from machine quilting. In this class we will learn and explore the materials and techniques needed to hand quilt a top. Students will be given a pre-machine pieced 9 patch quilt block, which we will hand quilt to practice. Though the project we make will be strictly practice, you can easily translate these practice techniques to make your own heirloom quality hand quilted creation. Level: Beginner.
Prerequisite: The Beginner Quilting Series, or equivalent experience. Not sure? Please email and we'll discuss!
