Mad Hatter Fascinator

One of the most iconic hats is the top hat, from Marlene Dietrich to Dita Von Teese. It is debonaire and dashing and particularly adorable in miniature. In this class, you will design your own mini top hat fascinator using a sinamay straw base and various millinery trims, including veiling, feathers, ribbons, etc. Milliner Laura Del Villaggio will discuss the history of the top hat and its 21st c. popularity, design development and execution, touching on many common millinery tools and couture techniques.

Prerequisite: Previous sewing skills helpful, but not required.
